Naturally dyed easter eggs

It’s about time to start dying easter eggs! If you forgot to go to the store and get one of these kits with the dye (yeah, what a mess…no spills please!) look to your kitchen to see what natural ingredients you have! Check out this video and see how to naturally dye easter eggs.

To make these eggs: Boil 2 cups water with 1 teaspoon salt (this is the BASE that will be used for all colors) to this we will add different amounts of the “color” ingredients and boil  each for 15 minutes!

Orange: 2 cups onion skins

Blue: 1 cup blueberries (frozen ones are fine too)

Pink: 2 large beets, chopped ( no need to peel!)

Yellow: 2 tablespoons tumeric

Brown: coffee…You can brew a fresh pot, or just use the last little bit from the pot after you’re all “Coffee-d” out…if that’s even possible!
